Fix wireless connection and install wlan0 driver on BackTrack and Kali Linux

As i promised. In this video tutorial i will show you how to fix wireless card problem. When you type airmon-ng and can't detect any wlan0 interface. In this post you can find solution.
In Virtual Machine computer default wireless card is not working, you need to buy an external wireless card. Look at eBay

TP-Link TL-WN723N

I already bought this one, and really working perfect. You can buy another model, but i recommend this one. Because its working very fast and size is small and comfortable.

I hope that you like this video tutorial and its really helpful for you. Then make sure you share it with your friends. And if you have any question add it in comment box below. And i will try to help you as soon as possible. Stay tuned for more tutorials.

  2. Hi Mikael,

I have the same TP-LINK model as yours.

I'm currently updating my Kali OS via Software update and have not yet performed your procedures.

I assume when everything is done, I may use airmon-ng start wlan0 right to monitor?

    Many thanks

  3. Hi Mikael,

I got this error on the "make" or "sudo make" step:

    make ARCH=i386 CROSS_COMPILE= -C /lib/modules/3.18.0-kali3-686-pae/build M=/root/Desktop/rtl8188eu-

    master modules
make: *** /lib/modules/3.18.0-kali3-686-pae/build: No such file or directory. Stop.
    make: *** [modules] Error 2

    1. Hi! It will no long work with kali linux! You can't enable monitor mode because kernel version is updated. For now the best adapter which will work with kali linux without any problems is alfa awus036nha. I have uploaded a video take a look https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOetz47x-04

  4. Hello,
I am using Tp Link WN723N wireless adapter. In the begining it wasn't showing it on airmon-ng
I followed all the steps you should in the video. Than it only shows wireless adapter in airmon-ng when i am connected to a connection. But when i try to follow next steps try to crack the wifi connection it didn't work.
When i try to put it on monitor mode, it didn't enable it.
Can i still use TP-link wn723n for cracking on backtrack VM or need to upgrade?
    Thank you
